Smell the Roses

Jayde Ferarri

The field glows bright,
Under the countless stars in the sky.
Lightning bugs fly aloft and go all a blight,
Some even buzz, buzz, buzz a cry.
A myriad of roses don the field,
Each a fiery red and adorned with numerous thorns that go,
Prick, prick, prick after being touched.
Numerous buzzing and the breeze can be heard amongst the crows.
Trees stand on either side of the field,
As if afraid of the shining glory of red.
Diverse pixies tend this pasture and yield,
Spreading their cheer to all a gleeful tree!
Alas, the Lego set is now finished.
I cannot smell the sweet roses,
For they are plastic.
And although pretty, their petals are hard and frozen.
Scentless they may be,
They sure are nice when placed on a green baseplate.
How I wish to create more stories in glee!
Through Lego, all is safe to explore and await.
