Wabi Sabi

Wabi Sabi is Japanese aesthetic concept that invites us to search for the beauty in what is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete” and to accept it as is.

Students were asked to create works that embraces imperfections. We wanted to see works that break the rules and push the boundaries of what art and writing is. Students could be experimental with form and/or content, and shouldn’t be afraid to embrace their mistakes.
